But if they refuse to accept this cage, they direct their Fury outward — they commit crimes against innocent people — since those who play by the rules of the system ultimately sustain it — or turn to the destruction of systemic institutions and massive, powerful underground organized crime. An example of such a head-on ramming of the state is Pablo Escobar, who, by the sheer force of his intellect, built a colossal criminal empire, declared open war on official authority, blew up government buildings, and literally shattered the bars of civilization, crushing the laws of an entire nation beneath him.

In low-intellect representatives of Homo, who vegetate in an existential coma induced by the mind's defense mechanisms, Fury never sparks. They are incapable of true, conscious sadism. They, too, experience deviations — accounting for the vast majority of primitive serial killers and street-level criminals — but in their case, they are the consequences of accidental fetal alcohol conception, in-utero trauma inflicted by domestic violence against a pregnant mother, or organic brain damage — blind, genetically determined glitches of biology rather than the result of a deep intellectual awakening accessible only to the apex predators of the species.

The higher the intellect of Homo sapiens, the more sophisticated their sadism.
