RITUAL FOR THE ÜBERMENSCH,
or Why I Don't Make Pop Music

“Tatiana, you have such a stunning and beautiful voice, you could easily fill stadiums making pop music. Why are you choosing to walk away from that kind of success just to make this complicated, elite avant-garde stuff? Don’t you feel that you are simply overcomplicating life for both yourself and your audience?”
answering the question.

Tatiana Gerasimenok: Pop music is not art, it is acoustic cattle feed — a product created solely to service the basic reflexes of the crowd and to unify human masses on the level of the most primitive, primordial emotions. Popular music hypnotizes the consumer, transforming into an instrument of systemic consciousness enslavement that reduces potentially rational beings to the state of a mindless mental herd. The mass-culture subject, submissively chewing on trends for the sake of cheap dopamine, is of no interest to me.

My intellect is wired differently. Utilizing it to craft pop music is like booting up a quantum computer just to play Tetris. Manipulating the crowd is too petty, banal, and tedious a task — it is the province of craftsmen, not demiurges. I harbor no interest in power over people; my pursuit is power over reality.

My domain is the conceptual avant-garde, highly complex electroacoustics, the quantum physics of sound, and cutting-edge technologies. I create algorithms that radically alter the very structure of academic art. My goal is to hack the code of reality and rewrite the laws of human perception.

My music is a ritual for the intellectual elite and the Übermensch — those actively evolving in both spirit and mind. And if the average human needs to evolve another couple of centuries just to comprehend my art, that is not my problem, but a symptom of their personal cerebral atrophy, driven by cognitive sloth and accelerated by surrogate pleasures.
